Director Tim Miller quits Deadpool 2 over creative differences

Just when we thought the future of ‘Deadpool’ was looking rosy, its director Tim Miller has left the project.

Deadline have revealed that due to creative differences Miller has left the project, which comes as quite a blow to the beginning of what was shaping to be a lucrative franchise.

Having directed the 2015 hit, Miller was on board to helm the sequel which would see Ryan Reynolds return as the foul-mouthed, quick talking merc, Deadpool, but it appears their working relationship is now over.

Miller hadn’t actually signed up officially to make the follow-up but it was understood that he’d been working on a script for the Fox film that was confirmed for a 2018 release earlier this year.

The site’s source claims the was a mutual agreement to part ways, with the director apparently moving straight onto another Fox project - an adaptation of the David Suarez novel, ‘Influx’.

The news no doubt comes as a blow to fans of Deadpool who totally embraced this year’s R-rated cinematic venture that surprised many with just how well it performed. Overall, the movie took $783 million - more than Warner Bros.’ ‘Suicide Squad’ and almost as much as ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

A number of things obviously made the film what it was: a solid director, script and, of course, Reynolds who fit into the role with relative ease and charm. So now with Miller gone, the task at hand for Fox will be to find another director who can carry on the success of the first.
