Dennis Quaid Makes Red Carpet Appearance with Wife Laura Savoie Days After 70th Birthday
The veteran actor and his wife stepped out together for an L.A. screening of his new film 'The Long Game'
Dennis Quaid and his wife Laura Savoie turned the red carpet into a date night!
On April 10, The Parent Trap star stepped out for a screening of his latest film, The Long Game, with his wife in Los Angeles just one day after celebrating his 70th birthday.
The actor was looking smart in a leather jacket, button-down shirt and pants, while Savoie, 30, bared some skin in a one-shoulder black top with a cutout on her midriff, along with a pair of classic white trousers.
The Long Game, which also stars Jay Hernandez, Brett Cullen and Oscar Nuñez, sees Quaid help JB Peña (Hernandez) start a golf team for Mexican-American kids after facing discrimination in Texas. The film, based on Humberto G. Garcia's 2010 novel, Mustang Miracle, tells the true story of how Peña's group of high schoolers made history with their victory in the 1957 Texas state golf championship. The film originally premiered at SXSW in 2023, and Savoie joined Quaid on the red carpet for the debut, as well.

Last year, the actor raved to PEOPLE about his wife, who he met in 2019 and married in secret a year later, describing their life together as "heaven."
“Laura's the love of my life,” he said of the real estate agent. “She came along and we have a bond with one another that I never had with anybody else before.
“I like waking up together. I like every moment of the day because we can do just simple stuff and it makes it worthwhile. It's a joy of life that we share together.”

Among the things that made their relationship work, he continued, was that he's taken lessons from his previous relationships. Quaid was previously married to P.J. Soles from 1978 to 1983, Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001 and Kimberly Buffington from 2004 to 2018. He shares son Jack, 31, with Ryan, and twins Thomas and Zoe, 16, with Buffington.
He told PEOPLE he's learned “to let go of a lot of things," which has helped pave the way for his and Savoie's love story.
"I think you have to prepare a table for love and tend to it. That’s what love is," he continued. “That’s what Laura and I have. I was ready to meet her, and I don’t know why God had it that we met at the time that we did, but it’s it for me. It’s great."
The couple split their time between Los Angeles and Nashville, where Savoie is a real estate agent, and enjoy date nights in the Tennessee city frequently.
As for their nearly four decade age gap, Quaid said, "We just never noticed it right from the beginning and just had to go with it."
He described himself as the "happiest I've ever been."
Quaid and Savoie announced their marriage exclusively to PEOPLE, spilling the details on their "beautiful" elopement in Santa Barbara in June 2020.
"It was love at first sight," the actor said of Savoie, before listing the things he loves about her. "Her character, her intelligence, of course, her beauty. And her point of view of the world."

The St. Louis native also shared her thoughts on Quaid, as she admitted she had "never met someone who is so in love with life."
"It's like nothing can bring him down," she continued. "Just getting to do life with someone who lives that way is inspiring for me. It changes my perspective and it brings so much joy to every day."
