Yahoo Movies Here’s the deal with Prince Harry’s relationship with Charles and William now
During Meghan and Harry's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey The Duke of Sussex opened up about his relationship with his dad Prince Charles and brother Prince William saying that he feels "really let down" by his father, Prince Charles.
The interview covered everything from the sex of Meghan and Harry's new baby to the date they actually got married, and at one point Prince Harry spoke very openly about his family saying that his father asked him to put his and Meghan's plans to leave in writing, but that Prince Charles wasn't happy with the decision.
"I took matters into my own hands, Harry said. "It was like, 'I need to do this for my family. This is not a surprise to anybody. It’s really sad that it's got to this point, but I've got to do something for my own mental health, my wife's and for Archie's as well,' because I could see where this was headed."
Later when asked about his relationship with his father now, Harry told Oprah, "There's a lot to work through here.
"I feel really let down because he’s been through something similar," he continued. "He knows what pain feels like. And Archie’s his grandson. But at the same time, I will always love him. But there's a lot of hurt that’s happened. And I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that relationship. But they only know what they know."
"Or what they’re told," Meghan then added.
"And I’ve tried to educate them through the process that I've been educated," Harry said, adding that although they speak now, for some time Charles "stopped taking my calls."
The Duke then spoke about his relationship with older brother Prince William, saying, "I love William to bits. He’s my brother, we've been through hell together... but we were on different paths. The relationship is space, at the moment. And, you know, time heals all things, hopefully."
Later in the interview Harry said that he feels his family are stuck, explaining, "I was trapped, but I didn't know I was trapped. My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave."
