The trailer featured a flashback clip from Logan, before Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) tells an unseen person in the present day: "You got the wrong guy."

As the mysterious figure turns around, she is revealed to be X-23. "You were always the wrong guy... until you weren't," she replies.

Though some fans were pleased with the characters' confirmed return, others felt the cameos would have been more impactful if kept a secret.

"@marvelstudios STOP PUTTING OUT UPCOMING CAMEOS PLEASE. Let the audience decide at this point" one fan commented. "Stop spoiling the movie, @marvel Should have kept B-15 and Dafne for the big screens," echoed another.

Deadpool & Wolverine is released in UK cinemas on July 25 and in US cinemas on July 26.
