David Spade Shows Off His 'Joe Dirt' Mullet — and a Hospital Gown?

Breaking news: Joe Dirt knows what a cell phone is.

David Spade is currently in production on the hotly anticipated sequel to his beloved 2001 hillbilly comedy, and he’s been keeping eager fans updated on the progress of the film via Instagram.

Joe Dirt II: Beautiful Loser producer Adam Sandler posted a photo on Facebook earlier this month showing off Joe’s mullet, sans head. Spade did him one better, posting the photo above on Instagram this week, writing, “Day 1. Lets get this sh*t started!”

Recent photos snapped on the set in Louisiana show Spade in a hospital gown, running shoes, and black socks, which we can only hope is part of the movie’s plot.

The film, which is being produced by Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison production company, will debut on Crackle next year.
