David Potts wins Celebrity Big Brother 2024:
David Potts has won 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The 30 -year-old reality star - who is best known for appearing on 'Ibiza Weekender' - had been taking part in the ITV1 reboot of the classic show, and was announced as the champion of the series on Friday (22.03.24) evening after surviving three weeks in the house, and had beaten 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional Nikita Kuzmin to the title of winner.
Speaking to hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best during his first interview on 'Late and Live', he said: "This is just me, what you see is what you get. Loud, long legs, here to slay! I like people, which is a good job considering I just went in there but especially people who've got the same energy as me. I just gravitate to them straight away."
Immediately after exiting the house, he said: "I really did not expect this at all, thank you so much! I'm ready to go again, honey! It was all in the legs! Who doesn't want to win? But I genuinely didn't think I was going to, I thought I was going to be midway, but here I am honey!"
Earlier on in the night, it was revealed that 'Coronation Street' star Colson Smith - who plays Craig Tinker on the ITV1 soap opera - had landed in third place and felt "so lucky" to have got so far in the game.
He said: "It's amazing, I feel so lucky to have been on the show. I never thought I'd have the podium finish but I'm absolutely delighted."
Prior to that, former ' X Factor' judge Louis Walsh had emerged in fourth place overall and admitted that he had had some "tough" nights on the show and was "glad" to be out.
He said: "I am so glad to be out, we had a brilliant time, but it is scary! I really wanted to go a few times, it really is tough at nighttime, during the day is okay".
The first of the five finalists to be evicted was 'This Morning' legend Fern Britto - who exited the house to cheers from the crowd whilst Jennifer Lopez track 'Let's Get Loud' played - and noted that even though it had been a "fantastic experience", she was pleased to finally be out.
She said: "It's marvellous, it's been a fantastic ride and I'm so happy to be out!"
David had appeared on the series alongside including music manager Sharon Osbourne - who appeared early on in the series as a lodger - along with 'Love Island' winner Ekin-Su Culcologlu, West End actress Marisha Wallace and 'Real Housewives of Cheshire' star Lauren Simon, amongst others.
One housemate who did not appear for the grand final was Catherine, Princess of Wales' uncle Gary Goldsmith following the news that his niece had been diagnosed with a form of cancer.
In a statement released just hours before the live broadcast, he said: "Following today's news, I will not be attending tonight's 'Celebrity Big Brother' final. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my fellow Housemates and to everyone involved in the making of this brilliant show. I hope you all enjoy your special night."
