Dave Matthews Band announces rescheduled dates for 2021 tour, pledges to plant 1 million trees

The Dave Matthews Band is going on tour – just a little bit later than anticipated because of the pandemic.

The group announced its list of rescheduled 2021 dates on Thursday. The tour will kick of in Raleigh, North Carolina. on July 23. Due to COVID-19, "many dates have been rescheduled," a tweet from the band noted. Shows have been added in Tampa, Florida and Denver.

As the tour announcement comes on Earth Day, the band is pledging to plant 1 million trees, as they did in last year. When purchasing a ticket, you can have $2 added to the ticket price to plant a tree with The Nature Conservancy as part of the group’s Plant a Billion Campaign. Fans can learn more about the campaign by visiting the Eco-Village on each stop of the tour, curated by REVERB, in partnership with DocuSign.

Dave Matthews Band joins a handful of artists who have announced a return to touring since COVID-19 halted virtually all major concerts. Others include Eric Church, Andrea Bocelli and Kane Brown.

Others are still refraining from hitting the road. The Weeknd and Kenny Chesney postponed tours to 2022 and Taylor Swift canceled her Lover Fest world tour.
