Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter Audition Tape Is Preposterously Cute

Despite being just 26 it feels as though Daniel Radcliffe has been in all of our lives for decades now. That’s probably because, well, he has.

Radcliffe made his debut in ‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone’ all the way back in 2001. At the age of its release Daniel Radcliffe was just 12. He was just 11 when he auditioned.

Which is why he looks so damn adorable in the footage of his audition that has recently gone viral and immediately needs to be seen by any Harry Potter devotee.

Watch it above.

If you don’t instantly produce a smile when Radcliffe starts giggling then you have a heart of stone.

Daniel Radcliffe himself helped the footage of his ‘Harry Potter’ audition start trending when he revealed to The Times over the weekend that his reaction upon recently being sent a YouTube link to the clip was, “Oh s***!”

Radcliffe admitted, via Metro, that the reason he found it so hard to watch himself act as child was due to the fact that he was “at a stage when you hate your face anyway, and anything it does is repellent to you.”

While that might be a tad harsh we’ve all had those moments of self-loathing where after catching yourself in the mirror you immediately questioned every single life choice that had led to that moment. Fortunately for most of us we weren’t filmed on a huge Hollywood production during this part of our lives.

Quite clearly Daniel Radcliffe’s audition for ‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone’ went rather well, as he was ultimately cast as the bespectacled wizard, and went on to reprise his role in a further seven films.

And despite the fact that he was heavily compensated for his work and it also helped to turn him into one of the world’s most recognised actors, it probably slightly kills Radcliffe that whenever someone wants to embarrass him they can just head over to YouTube and see him as an earnest child actor trying to impress.
