Dancing on Ice couple Brianne Delcourt and Kevin Kilbane are expecting their second child together.
"I was a month along when I found out and I went for my second ultrasound quite early," recalled Delcourt. "We found out I had a haemorrhage and it was right by the placenta. I was bleeding for a week so I went to see a doctor. Automatically we thought something was wrong."
At first, the medical experts assured the couple that this was sometimes part of the process and can simply go away.
"I went for a follow-up and mine had gotten bigger and I was in a lot of pain. They put me on bed rest but that only lasted a day as it's pretty hard to do nothing when you've got two kids," she continued.
"It was an extremely worrying time and it was way before 12 weeks, so it was really scary. I then went back a few weeks later and thankfully the haemorrhage had cleared up. They said it could have been a slight injury from when I didn't know I was pregnant as I was doing things like water skiing."
Obviously, this was a concerning time for Kilbane too, who said that initially they were preparing for the worst.
"We'd never heard of a haemorrhage in pregnancy so when you're told that you think the worst. It was worrying to see how the pregnancy was progressing and the first 10 weeks involved a lot of appointments and scans. But once we were told the haemorrhage had shrunk everything became more relaxing. What's important now is just to get Bri through the next 20 weeks of the pregnancy."
Dancing on Ice will return in 2022, airing on ITV.
