The First Trailer For Jason Bourne Is A Riot

What’s Jason Bourne been up to since the climactic events of ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’?

Mainly bare-knuckle boxing in a quarry, by the looks of it.

The first trailer for the rebooted action franchise (which sees Matt Damon reuniting with director Paul Greengrass) finds the former spy programme rebel on the run once again.

Set to a backdrop of topical civil unrest in Greece – Greengrass was a former journalist before hitting Hollywood – Damon’s Bourne is brought back to the surface.

Now it’s Tommy Lee Jones’s CIA director who is the shadowy puppet master behind the scenes, as Bourne also reunites with Julia Stiles’ character Nicky Parsons.

Damon and Greengrass had previously said 'we have ridden that horse as far as we can’, as far as the Bourne movies were concerned, but clearly there was a change of heart.

“It has taken us a long time to come back because we didn’t have the right story before,” said Greengrass.

“The world needed to change and then there comes that moment when it makes sense. You know when it feels right and that’s when you do it, not before.”

Also starring Vincent Cassel, Alicia Vikander and Riz Ahmed, the movie hits cinemas on July 27.
