Daisy Ridley: Rian Johnson Will Be Cheekier With Star Wars: Episode VIII Teasers

‘Star Wars’ actor Daisy Ridley has spoken about new director Rian Johnson’s approach to ‘Episode VIII’ teasers.

The dust has barely settled on the movie event of 2015 that was ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and already we’ve been thrust into the follow-up with news and rumours on almost a daily basis.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the young actor said the vibe on-set was just as positive as it was on ‘The Force Awakens’ with J.J. Abrams et al.

“It’s still very lovely and warm and friendly, just like seven was,” she said about the new crew.

But when asked about how info would slip out and whet the appetites of fans, she thinks Johnson will tease even more, if that’s possible.

“I think Rian actually wants to be a bit cheekier with the little tidbits of information that are going out, which is fun.” Ridley agrees that Johnson’s approach to the film will likely be different to Abrams’ in terms of what’s leaked and revealed ahead of the anticipated release, we just hope it’s as airtight as ‘The Force Awakens’ was with some of its bigger reveals.

Already there’s been plenty of rumours about which characters will return, the new faces that’ll appear, what direction the story will take, and just how big of a role Mark Hamill will have as Luke Skywalker.

Currently, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ has taken an incredible $2 billion (and counting) at the worldwide box office, having broken all sorts of records since its pre-Christmas cinema release. The DVD and Blu-ray has just been announced for 18 April in the UK.

‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ is in UK cinemas from 15 December, 2017.
