We're just one (yes, ONE) episode away from the finale of And Just Like That, the long-awaited Sex And The City revival. But, while the hit HBO show has given us plenty to talk about – spoiler alert – like Mr Big's death in episode one and Miranda Hobbes' affair with the divisive Che Diaz, there's also been quite a fair bit of drama going on off-screen too.

ICYMI, following a rumoured decades-long feud with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall decided not to reprise her role as the much-loved Samantha Jones when the show returned. Since then, she hasn't exactly kept her, err, thoughts, on the reboot a secret, taking to Twitter to like quite a few shady tweets – notably, this tweet which branded the new series "trashy".

But now, her former co-star Cynthia Nixon has spoken out about Cattrall's absence from the show, and how it's been handled. "I thought it was great," she told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen when asked her thoughts on the plot line surrounding Samantha's absence. "I mean, I have to say, I love how we addressed it head-on in the first minute."

She went on to add that she's pleased with the way the characters continue to reference their missing friend, noting that they've kept Samantha's spirit alive without her actually being on the show. "I loved how there began to be layers of it," Nixon continued. "I love how, you know, we keep checking in with her from time to time. I love that."

Tbh, I think we can all agree the show just hasn't been the same without Samantha. Anyone else still hoping for a second season cameo?
