COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, Oct. 4, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

  • 973 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,203,882*;

  • 18 new deaths, for a total of 16,817 deaths, i.e.;

  • 3,710 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);

  • 1,757 hospitalizations, including 537 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 102 compared to the previous day;

  • 33 people in intensive care, including 14 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 3 compared to the previous day;

  • 8,396 samples conducted on October 2;

  • 294,336 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 246,913 positive: 241 declared for yesterday, including 209 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.


  • 9,821 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 21,327,002 doses received by Quebecers.
