Hit maker Brad Paisley brings his country music to the Ironstone Amphitheatre in Murphys. Paul Thorn will play a fundraiser at the State Theatre in Modesto. They’re just two of the Modesto region entertainment options for Aug. 13-19.

Country music star Brad Paisley brings his show to the Ironstone Amphitheatre in Murphys. The Grammy-winning singer’s hits include “She’s Everything,” “Then,” “Remind Me” and “We Danced.” Joining him for the concert will be Tracy Lawrence and Caylee Hammack.

Paul Thorn

Singer-songwriter Paul Thorn brings his mix of blues and rock to the State Theatre in Modesto. The show is a benefit for CASA of Stanislaus County and Hope Haven West. Thorn sings about life after growing up in Tupelo, Miss. He worked at a furniture factory and fought as a professional boxer before turning to music full time.

“Seven Brides”

Modesto Performing Arts presents the musical “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto. It’s the story of newlyweds Adam and Milly. Milly is determined to marry off her six brothers-in-law to ensure the success of her marriage.

The Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock presents the “Carnegie Art Showcase” exhibit, including a gallery talk Aug. 18 with featured award-winning artists. Artists will be on hand to discuss their work and answer questions. Participating artists include Mark Knize, Neil Mitchell and Eddie O. Rodriguez.
