Will your costume stay dry? Here’s Sacramento’s weather forecast for Halloween

One week after the wettest day in Sacramento history, will Halloween this Sunday be stormy? Dreary? Spooky? Howling with wind?

Probably not, forecasts suggest.

The National Weather Service predicts mostly typical October weather this holiday weekend, with highs around the low 70s Friday dipping to the mid-60s by Sunday, along with calm winds and mostly sunny skies.

That’s a bit cooler than normal for Halloween, with weather service records showing an average daytime high of 72 degrees over the past 30 years.

But for all the late-night trick-or-treaters out there, the nighttime low is predicted to stay in the low 50s, a few degrees warmer than the average of 46.

There is some more rain coming after Sunday.

Forecasts show a chance of rain Monday, dwindling down to showers by that evening. High temperatures will drop to the low 60s.
