Corrie star confirms new war for Gary and Phelan

Coronation Street star Mikey North has confirmed that Gary Windass's feud with Pat Phelan is being reignited soon.

Phelan's first stint in the ITV soap saw him blackmail the Windass family after Gary brutally attacked him, but the old enemies have managed to stay out of each other's way in recent months.

Next week on Corrie, we'll see Gary cheat on his girlfriend Sarah Platt with Phelan's daughter Nicola Rubinstein – marking the beginning of a big new storyline.

Speaking about the plot for the first time, Mikey admitted that the tabloid rumour of Gary getting Nicola pregnant is true – with big consequences once Phelan gets involved.

"We know that Nicola is going to get pregnant with Gary's baby, but what we don't know yet is whether she's going to keep the baby," Mikey told Inside Soap.

"That's set to pit Gary against Phelan again, so there are going to be old battlegrounds revisited – there's a lot of unfinished business there!"

He added: "If Phelan's going to finally get his comeuppance, I want to be the one to do it!

"As long as I don't have to lose my job because of it!"

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
