Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Gemma Winter-Brown has been given final a warning over Joseph's care in Coronation Street.
Last week, Gemma was warned by child protection officer Caitlin that she'd have to move out of her family home temporarily or the child would be taken into care.
This came about due to a pending investigation over Gemma accidentally poisoning Joseph with lavender oil while he wasn't feeling well.
In Monday's episode (December 4), Gemma faced yet more stress when her mum Bernie had her court sentencing hearing for selling dodgy goods with business partner Big Garth.
The family were all devastated when the judge formally sentenced Bernie to spend three months in prison — with the stipulation she'd have to serve at least half of the term behind bars.
An irate Gemma took out her anger on Big Garth's van, as she started smashing up the inside until Dev Alahan intervened to stop her.
With Garth threatening to call the police, Chesney sent Gemma home and tried to reason with Bernie's associate. Back at No. 5, Gemma once again had to deal with Joseph's ill health as he complained of a headache.
Caitlin arrived to find Gemma alone with the child. Caitlin gave her a final warning since Gemma was not allowed to be alone with the boy during the child protection investigation.
"You both need to realise, if you do anything like this again while you're under investigation, [the children] could be taken into care," Caitlin told the couple.
Once she left, Chesney took his anger out on Gemma and scolded her for always bringing trouble to their doorstep. Gemma fled in despair, though her brother Paul tried to convince her things would work out.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
