MATTOON, Ill. (AP) _ Consolidated Communications Holdings Inc. (CNSL) on Thursday reported a loss of $6.9 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Mattoon, Illinois-based company said it had a loss of 9 cents. Earnings, adjusted to extinguish debt and for stock option expense, came to 12 cents per share.

The telecommunications company posted revenue of $326.1 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported net income of $37 million, or 47 cents per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $1.3 billion.

Consolidated Communications shares have risen 21% since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 21% in the last 12 months.
