On this episode of In the Know: Beauty School, celebrity makeup artist and host Patrick Ta shares his tips and tricks for how to properly conceal any blemish and how to highlight your face to give you that flawless finish.

When it comes to a great concealer, coverage is key. Ta recommends the Nudestix Tinted Cover Foundation because it offers coverage while also being lightweight. “It’s almost like a tinted moisturizer,” Ta explains. The makeup expert uses just two pumps of the product, and applies it using a brush with swirling motions.

Once the foundation is applied, Ta uses an Original Beautyblender Makeup Sponge “to really just melt the product into the skin, to take away any heaviness in certain areas,” he explains. “This is really just going to give you that airbrush finish without having any fine lines, without having any streaking, and really just melt the product and foundation into your skin.”

Concealing for blemishes versus concealing for brightening requires a different approach. Ta uses the Nudestix Nudefix Cream Concealer and suggests dabbing it on areas of the face that require a little extra coverage. “This is going to allow you to have the rest of your face still be lightweight and natural,” Ta explains. Then he uses the makeup sponge again to press the dabs of concealer into the model’s skin.

Once your concealer is taken care of, you can move on to highlighting. Using a different shade of concealer, Ta smears the product under the model’s eyes, the bridge of her nose, her smile lines, her chin, and just under her eye shadow. “This is kind of bringing light to certain areas on your face,” says Ta. Then using a small brush, he blends the concealer into the areas that he wants to brighten.

Finally, using the pointy side of the makeup sponge, he presses all of the product in. The key is to melt the concealer into the foundation, and avoid any harsh lines.

The key to any flawless makeup look is a great foundation. Once your foundation and concealer are set, you can let your beauty imagination run wild!
