Yahoo Movies Zac Efron and Vanessa Valladares have reportedly split
Zac Efron has played various starring roles as the extremely fanciable heartthrob. In fact, we're so used to him playing the love interest that we've probably forgotten he isn't *actually* our boyfriend. Efron's on-screen chemistry with his co-stars has often led to speculation about his dating life and in some cases those fictional relationships really have spilled into real life, like when he famously dated his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens in 2005. 15 years later, and he was linked to another Vanessa - Australian model Vanessa Valladares. But, in between, he's been linked to plenty more of his co-stars, including Lily Collins, Halston Sage, and Alexandra Daddario. 2020 - 2021, Vanessa Valladares
After a whirlwind 10 month relationship Zac Efron and Vanessa Valladares have reportedly split, according to a report from Australian publication The Daily Telegraph. While the title didn't give a reason for the breakup, it states that after almost a year together the couple have decided to go their separate ways.
The split comes just weeks before he was due to fly to Canada to begin filming his new film Firestarter. A trip that, according to the Mail Online, she was due to be accompanying him on.
The pair first got together following Zac's relocation to Australia in March 2020. He reportedly met Vanessa at the Byron Bay General Store café where she was working as a waitress. Soon after, the pair were spotted enjoying a skiing trip together in Thredbo, New South Wales, while more later photos showed them holding hands while on a lunch date in Byron Bay. So far, so couple-y.
A little while later a source told Us Weekly, "Things moved quickly, and Vanessa spends most nights at Zac’s house. They are both very smitten with each other." The pair were later spotted together having a laugh at an upmarket restaurant in Sydney, amid reports that she had quit her job to spend more time with him while he was on filming projects.

2005 - 2010, Vanessa Hudgens
One of the most high-profile teen relationships of the noughties, Zac Efron (then 17) and Vanessa Hudgens (then 16) met on the set of High School Musical. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter‘s Awards Chatter podcast, Vanessa said, "We created a bond right from the start... we were like 'we’re doing this, it’s us or nothing.'" After five years of dating the pair parted ways, with a source telling People that "they are 100 percent still good friends".
2012 - Lily Collins
Zac and Lily Collins briefly dated in 2012, which is seven years before they starred together in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, the Netflix film about serial killer Ted Bundy. The pair called it quits after three months with an insider telling US Weekly, "They were never serious, though; it was just a casual thing and it fizzled. They were never in the same place at the same time." Fast forward seven years and it looks like the pair are now great friends, with them both sharing cute "partner in crime" pics of them together when promoting the Netflix film.
2014 - Halston Sage
Shortly after appearing in Neighbours together, an E! News source claimed that Zac and Halston were "definitely an item":
"They were seeing each other a bit during filming of their movie together, and ever since he went to rehab, they got a lot closer. Her friends love him and say he is so sweet. He’s really good to her."
While it was never officially confirmed that they were dating, they were spotted looking pretty cosy together at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game in 2014. Keep your eyes peeled as this may not be the last you see of Halston on this list...
2014 - Michelle Rodriguez
In 2014, a video of Michelle Rodriguez and Zac making out in a club in Ibiza surfaced. A source later told E! News that "it had just been a casual hookup for Zac and Michelle" noting that "they were having fun". Certainly looked like it.
2014 - Sami Miró
Shortly after his steamy summer with Rodriguez, Efron started dating designer Sami Miró. They were reportedly introduced through mutual friends and enjoyed a relatively long-term relationship with dinner dates in Denmark, smiley strolls around Los Angeles and plenty of sickeningly cute selfies. In 2016, Sami and Zac called it a day after nearly two years of dating. An insider told E! News, "It wasn't an easy breakup. Distance and work schedules got in the way with their relationship and Zac wanted to focus on his career."
2017 - Alexandra Daddario
Alexandra Daddario starred alongside Efron in the 2017 reboot of Baywatch. People reported that Efron and Daddario's relationship had been "on and off since their time working together on the movie" adding that they were not "officially dating." Daddario later responded to the rumours, telling E! News' Jason Kennedy at the Billboard Music Awards, "We work together closely; he's my love interest in the film. I understand why people would go crazy over something like that, but Zac and I are very good friends." Although nothing was ever confirmed, Zac did comment 'two hot bitches' on one of Daddario's Instagram posts. Read into that what you will.
2019 - Sarah Bro
Zac started dating Sarah Bro, a professional swimmer, in early 2019. They were linked after Zac and the Danish athlete posted separate Instagram photos of themselves at an LA Kings hockey game (thanks, Instagram super sleuths) before they turned up to the UFC 235 fight together in Las Vegas. Sadly, by January 2020, their relationship seemed to have fizzled. Us Weekly reported that it "just wasn't working out. She came back to LA, and it never got going again."
2020 - Halston Sage (again)
After dating briefly in 2014, Halston and Zac reportedly reunited in January 2020. A source told Us Weekly that the pair were "in a serious relationship and in love. They spent the holidays together, with part of that time in Santa Barbara." However, it wasn't meant to be as Zac was later linked to Australian model and waitress Vanessa Valledares.
