Colin Kaepernick has been the hottest topic in sports in 2017, and that popularity has extended to Halloween, where a number of people dressed up as the former San Francisco 49ers QB.

A number of Kaepernick tributes were shared on social media.

Not all of the tributes were flattering. An officer at the University of Nevada, Reno Police Department, where Kaepernick shined for four seasons, found himself in hot water over his costume, which mocked the QB with an afro wig and a fake nose and a sign that read “Will stand for food.”

Adam Garcia, UNR PD’s chief of police,  apologized for the costume in a statement.

At a Louisiana casino, a man won a contest with his “Colin Krapperdick” costume, which looked exactly as it sounds.

After a picture of the costume on the casino’s Facebook page sparked controversy, the man, 53-year-old James Pendarvis, responded.
