Colbert Lampoons Zuckerberg, Winklevoss Twins for Falling on Forbes Richest List (Video)

“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert found the funny in certain uber-rich Americans falling lower on the Forbes’ wealthiest list for 2022.

After opening his monologue with a detailed dissection – for joke purposes – of the revelations about former President Donald Trump from Maggie Haberman’s as-yet-unreleased book, Colbert spent a little time on the topic of Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg dropping out of Forbes’ Top 10 wealthiest Americans list.

“Here’s a little something that might bring a smile to your face. For the first time since the great recession, the super rich did not get richer this year,” Colbert began. “Yes, I will toast to that. Alexa, order champagne from Amazon. Take that Bezos!”

He continued: “One billionaire hit especially hard is Meta CEO and first face you see when you come to the bottom of a well, Mark Zuckerberg,” Colbert said, once again coming up with a new way to describe a photo of the Facebook boss.

“[In] 2021 Zuckerberg was number 3 on the Forbes 400, but this year, he fell out of the top 10 for the first time since 2014. It must be tough, but you’d never know he’s upset, or happy, or hungry. He’s a robot,” Colbert joked.

The “Late Show” host then turned his attentions to Zuckerberg’s former Harvard classmates the Winklevoss twins.

“Things are even worse for other billionaires like tech entrepreneurs and twins who each secretly think the other is the spare organ farm: Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss,” Colbert said, again, attempting a joke to describe a photo.

“Unlike Zuck, who merely dropped a couple of spots in the rankings this year the Winklevosses fell off the list altogether, but don’t you worry about them having jobs. They can always fall back on their band,” he continued.

The “Late Show” hosted then shared footage of the twins performing a cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing,” with one of the brothers hitting some bum notes on the lyric, “some were born to sing the blues.”

“And some were born not to sing at all,” Colbert quipped.
