Christopher Nolan confirms next movie following Oppenheimer success
Christopher Nolan is lining up his next movie following the success of Oppenheimer.
The historical biopic became a huge critical and box office hit upon its release in 2023, going on to win seven Oscars earlier this year.
Deadline now reports that Nolan will likely re-team with Oppenheimer star Matt Damon and studio Universal for his next movie, which is expected to begin filming next year for an IMAX release on July 17, 2026.

Oppenheimer follows the true story of J Robert Oppenheimer, dubbed ‘the father of the atomic bomb’, and the Manhattan Project that created the first nuclear weapons.
The movie took the record for the highest-grossing biopic ever made, surpassing previous record-holder Bohemian Rhapsody, and the biggest-ever World War II-focused film at the box office.
Among its seven Academy Awards were prizes for Best Picture, Best Director for Nolan and Best Actor for Cillian Murphy.

Speaking after his name was announced at the ceremony, Nolan said: "To the Academy, just to say movies are just a little bit over 100 years old. I mean, imagine being there 100 years into painting or theatre. We don't know where this incredible journey is going from here.
"But to know that you think that I'm a meaningful part of it means the world to me."
Murphy added in his own speech that he was “a very proud Irish man standing here right now”.
"We made a film about the man who created the atomic bomb, and for better or for worse, we're all living in Oppenheimer's world, so, I would like to dedicate this to the peacemakers everywhere," the star added.
