Christian Bale Plans to See 'Batman v Superman' … Eventually

Christian Bale has every intention of seeing Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but don’t expect to catch him at the red carpet premiere — or his local cineplex.

“I think it looks great,” Bale told Yahoo Movies while promoting his new drama, Knight of Cups, directed by Tree of Life helmer Terrence Malick. “My little boy really likes watching the trailers online.” (Bale’s toddler son, Joseph, is 18 months old.)

“I think they’ve done a bloody good job. I don’t know that I’ll go see it in the movie theaters, but I’ll certainly see it.”

The Wales-born Bale, of course, played Batman from 2005 to 2012 in Christopher Nolan’s beloved Dark Knight trilogy. He followed in the footsteps of Michael Keaton (Batman and Batman Returns), Val Kilmer (Batman Forever), and George Clooney (Batman and Robin) in the role of Bruce Wayne and his crimefighting alter ego. Ben Affleck will take over the mantle as he faces of against Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent later this month in Dawn of Justice.

During the same interview, Bale also expressed disappointment in his performance as the Caped Crusader: “I didn’t quite manage what I hoped I would throughout the trilogy. Chris did, but my own sense of self is like, ‘I didn’t quite nail it.’”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25. You can see Bale in Knight of Cups starting Friday.
