Chiefs’ focus turned to the Raiders while in locker room after beating the Buccaneers

It’s a longer week than usual for the Chiefs because they’ll play on “Monday Night Football.”

That means the weekly practices begin Wednesday instead of Tuesday, a fact coach Andy Reid noted in the locker room at Raymond James Stadium after congratulating the Chiefs for their 41-31 victory against the Buccaneers on Sunday night.

Then quarterback Patrick Mahomes spoke.

“Hey great job today,” Mahomes told his teammates. “Way to accept the challenge. We can learn, we can get better. But make sure you all come ready this next week. You all know who’s coming to town.”

The players certainly know their next game is against the Chiefs’ rival from their American Football League days, the Raiders.

Las Vegas will be at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, which means Raiders Week is a little longer, which seems appropriate.

This will be the 127th meeting between the teams, and the Chiefs lead the series 70-54-2. The Chiefs have played more games against the Raiders than another other franchise.

The Chiefs shared a video of the postgame speeches on Sunday on their social media channels. Here it is.
