Charlotte Pride is returning this weekend. Here’s how you can volunteer

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the annual Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade will return in-person this weekend.

More than 200,000 people are expected to attend the event from Aug. 19-21, which will include hundreds of vendor booths, art exhibits, a food court and a concert headlined by Grammy-winning singer Daya.

With the anticipated high turnout, volunteers are needed to help set up and run the festival and parade, according to the Charlotte Pride website.

Here are the volunteer positions that are available, and how you can sign up to help.

Here are the types of volunteer jobs available, according to the Charlotte Pride website:

• Stage set-up

• Beverage ticket sales

• Beverage station staffing and bartending

• VIP experience set-up, staffing and tear-down

• Vendor support

How to volunteer at Charlotte Pride

People who want to volunteer can sign up online, or stop by the volunteer tent at the corner of South Tryon Street and Third Street this weekend, according to the Charlotte Pride website.

Employee resource groups, clubs and organizations can sign up to volunteer by emailing volunteer@charlottepride.org.

All volunteers are required to sign a participation waiver, and those who are under 18 must have their parent or guardian sign the form.

Parking will not be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to park off-site in a parking lot or parking deck in uptown.
