1. Century-old building in Charlotte’s North End under contract to sell to local developer
A Charlotte real estate developer is under contract to buy property in North End.
Browder Group Real Estate is planning to close on the sale of a century-old building from Austin, Texas-based Artesia Real Estate Investments in early May, Matt Browder confirmed exclusively to The Charlotte Observer.
The 125,000 square foot building called Foundation Supply is located at 1801 N. Tryon St., across the street from the Amtrak station.

2. Contractors sue Charlotte over payment after delays in Hawthorne Lane bridge project
There were several delays during the construction of the Hawthorne Lane Bridge that the city repeatedly blamed on its contractor.
The city may have gone too far in its blame game though. Johnson Brothers Corporation is suing the city for $155 million saying it breached its contract, misrepresented the project and provided unjust enrichment, according to the suit.

3. Charlotte Pho restaurant hit with more than 20 violations during health inspection
A popular local Pho restaurant received a “B” grade from the Mecklenburg County Healthy Department.
Pho Real was cited for more than 20 health violations including undercooked food and employees not washing their hands. This is the restaurant’s first “B” grade since September 2019.

4. Atlanta-based brewery opens this spring with outdoor garden in Charlotte’s South End
Monday Night Brewing Garden Co. is opening its first North Carolina taproom this spring.
The Atlanta-based brewery will open its doors in Charlotte’s South End at 2217 S. Tryon St. Monday Night Brewing Garden Co. joins an ever-growing list of over 30 breweries in the Queen City.
