'Celebrity Jeopardy!', Hilary Swank-led drama, 'Rookie' spinoff debuting on ABC this fall

What are "Celebrity Jeopardy!" and two new dramas? ABC revealed its fall lineup Tuesday, adding an edition of a beloved quiz show and new series.

Sunday nights are reserved for star-studded game shows. The new "Celebrity Jeopardy!," in which famous contestants compete in the brainy battle for their chosen charity, will precede “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.”

Oscar winner Hilary Swank leads the network's "Alaska," portraying embattled journalist Eileen Fitzgerald, who flees New York to start over at a newspaper in Anchorage. Niecy Nash-Betts stars in the spinoff “The Rookie: Feds”, as Simone Clark, a role introduced on “The Rookie.” Simone is the FBI Academy's oldest newbie.

ABC will fill a hole left by "Dancing with the Stars" moving to Disney+ with "Bachelor in Paradise,” which has been given two-hour time slots on Mondays and Tuesdays. Last month, Disney revealed its new plans for "DWTS," which aired for 30 seasons on ABC.

The new comedy "Not Dead Yet" will premiere mid-season, like “A Million Little Things” and “The Wonder Years.” (The reboot will move forward sans the star of the original, Fred Savage, who was ousted as director and executive producer for inappropriate conduct.) "Not Dead Yet," inspired by Alexandra Potter's “Confessions of a 40-something (Expletive) Up,” stars Gina Rodriguez as Nell Stevens, who takes a job writing obituaries in hopes of reigniting a career she abandoned a decade ago.
