Cedric Struggs will be resentenced for his role in 1980 robbery

Cedric Struggs, who has spent the last 41 years in prison on a murder charge under California's now-defunct Felony Murder Rule, was ordered to be resentenced and released. Struggs took part in a gas station robbery in 1980 where someone he was with shot and killed an employee. The law that got Struggs sentenced as a murderer was overturned in 2019. Kern County Judge Gregory Pulskamp ordered Struggs resentenced in the next few days, after which he will be a free man.
