When you go after a hip-hop icon without merit, people tend to take notice.

Especially when you’re LaVar Ball’s son and the starting point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Such is the case with Lonzo Ball, who started a bizarre beef with New York hip-hop legend Nas in the Ball family’s reality series “Ball in the Family.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers took notice ahead of Thursday night’s matchup with the Lakers and promptly serenaded Ball during pregame warmups.

The beef started when soft-spoken Ball said on the show “don’t nobody listen to Nas no more” and that Migos and Future are real hip-hop.

It sparked an ongoing Twitter battle of sorts between Ball and Nas that most recently saw Ball sport a hoodie with his face photoshopped in place of Nas’ on the cover art for his album “It Was Written.”

The hoodie move even drew some shade from Ball’s rookie teammate, Kyle Kuzma.

Disrespect aside, with all the bluster coming from the Ball family, if Lonzo’s biggest controversy ends up being his feud with Nas, then he should be all right.
