President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris's inauguration ceremony and evening celebration included musical acts like Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, and John Legend, but could you imagine … if Cardi B were there too?

Late last night, the rapper joked that she had planned to attend the swearing-in ceremony—and perform her and Megan Thee Stallion's X-rated collab, "WAP," no less. But alas, she had a scheduling conflict.

"Ugh I was supposed to perform wap at the inauguration today but I had a dentist appointment ....maybe next time," she tweeted.

Despite being absent from the inauguration, Cardi—who has been vocal about politics, voting, and racial justice, especially during the election cycle—has already had one-on-one time with President Biden. Last summer, she interviewed the then candidate about his plans for the country and brought his attention to pressing issues like health care and education.

"It's important to have free [health care], because look what is happening right now," she told Biden in their virtual sit-down for ELLE. "Of course, I think we need free college. And I want Black people to stop getting killed and no justice for it. I'm tired of it."

Biden said in part of his response, "Sometimes the truth is hard. But right now, we're in a position where we have an opportunity to make so much progress. The American public has had the blinders taken off."

And even though Cardi herself didn't perform during inauguration festivities, one of her songs did make it into the Celebrating America televised concert. Ozuna performed part of "Taki Taki," their collaboration with DJ Snake and Selena Gomez, which Cardi shouted-out on Twitter. "Very strong," she wrote.

Here's to hoping a real presidential performance lies in Cardi's future.
