Cardi B and City Girls rapper JT got into it on Twitter, and things escalated quickly

Cardi B doesn’t seem to realize you can never win on the Internet.

On Monday the rapper decided to get into it with Miami’s own JT, one half of the City Girls.

As far as we can tell Card was the instigator in chief.

How it started: JT started out her workweek by making the mistake of congratulating GloRilla on her chart topping “Tomorrow” remix, featuring Cardi, but failing to recognize the A-list music star.

(Insert sound of record scratch here).

A few eagle eyed social media users called JT out for the blatant exclusion, perhaps fueling the feud.

JT (real name Jatavia Johnson) responded, saying she only had a few characters available for the post: “NAH, actually the tweet was too long!”

The local rapper also graciously gave the “Money” singer props: “Cardi been having top 10’s. I been congratulating her for years. This is GLO’s first one.”

She then rather impolitely told them all to leave her in peace.

But Cardi was watching. Minutes later, she showed off receipts that she indeed had a top 10 single on the Hot 100 for six years running. As if we doubted that.

“And my records live in the top ten,” she announced in ALL CAPS.

The two women then began to engage directly with another and it spiraled into name calling and choice language we will not republish here.

As the digital catfight (which included Cardi accusing JT of using a ghostwriter) wound down, Cardi blasting JT for opening up the exchange between them for the “kids.”

“So wait, me and you talking in the DM woman to woman, but YOU take it to your timeline and throw shots calling me a bully and a wiener… Why you playing dumb?”

Next thing you know, JT went and changed her avatar to a pic of Cardi rival, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi swapped hers to a pic of BFF Remy Ma.

That’s when we decided to close the laptop and go to bed.

On Tuesday morning, Remy’s pic was still up, JT’s account returned to its normal state, though that word’s a stretch.

Nothing seems to have been resolved, but JT does seem to be the adult in the room, just sayin.’ Way to rep the 305.

Some commenters couldn’t help but note that Monday night’s long and winding, curse-filled thread between the two may have been a PR stunt and the singers will be coming out with a tune together soon.

We are so here for that. Or not.
