The 28-year-old played just under three minutes during Game 2 against the Wild over the course of four shifts.
Ferland was fined $5,000 for spearing Wild forward Ryan Hartman, the maximum amount allowable under the collective bargaining agreement. He also fought Wild forward Marcus Foligno during his first shift in Game 1.
Concussion issues have plagued Ferland during his career, and he was limited to only 14 regular-season contests in 2019-20 because of his latest head injury, before he returned to the lineup for the postseason.
During the regular campaign, Ferland registered a goal and five points in those 14 games — but was held scoreless in both playoff qualifying games.
He signed a four-year, $14-million contract with the Canucks last summer.
