Candles and Flowers Placed Outside Oxford High School as Fourth Victim Dies Following Shooting

Candles and flowers were left outside Oxford High School in Oxford, Michigan, on Wednesday, December 1, following a school shooting on Tuesday that killed at least four students.

Brendan Gutenschwager, who took this video outside Oxford High School, said the building remained closed today, with some people returning to retrieve their vehicles from the school parking lot.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael J Bouchard said in a press conference on Tuesday night that the suspect, a 15-year-old sophomore at the high school, was being held at Oakland County Children’s Village as a juvenile. A preliminary investigation indicated that the weapon used in the shooting was purchased on November 26 by the suspect’s father, Bouchard said.

An update on the investigation is planned at 3 pm Wednesday at the Oakland County Sheriff’s headquarters in Pontiac, Michigan, according to local reports. Credit: Brendan Gutenschwager via Storyful
