An Australian diver recently captured what she described as “incredible” footage of a courtship display by a pale octopus in Rye, Victoria.Emily May, who runs the @emilymaydive Instagram account, was on a diving expedition at Rye Pier when she captured footage of the mating ritual.Speaking to Storyful, May said she and another diver noticed the pale octopus “throw its two front arms up in their air while changing colour.”“We then noticed that about five meters away sat a second octopus - the first octopus was courting the second.”May shared the footage to her Instagram page and described the scene as an “incredible courtship display from a pale octopus.” Credit: @emilymaydive via Storyful
