The Calgary Fire Department says it responded to three fires in a close time frame early Saturday morning.

Around 3:10 a.m., fire crews received a call for smoke in the 100 block of Rundlecairn Road — located in the northeast community of Rundle.

Upon arrival, crews found the fire in a bedroom on the main floor of the house.

Firefighters were able to hose the fire from outside the home while other crews worked their way into the house to fight the fire from the inside.

One man was taken to hospital with minor smoke inhalation.

At the same time, firefighters were also extinguishing a fire at a motorhome in the southeast Valleyfield commercial area.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire and assisted in treatment and transport of the occupant to hospital with smoke inhalation.

Over in the northwest, crews responded to a third fire in a three-story multi-unit building in the 300 block of 9A street N.W.

Firefighters worked to evacuate the building and as of 8:30 a.m., the fire had been extinguished, but crews remained on scene.
