Caldor Fire evacuees allowed to return home after part of Hwy. 50 reopens

People lined up at the Fresh Pond Chevron gas station parking lot for clearance to see what was left of their homes or cabins after the Caldor Fire tore through El Dorado County. Highway 50, which closed a month ago, reopened Monday for evacuees who live between Kyburz and Meyers. That stretch of road will completely reopen to the general public 8 a.m. Tuesday. For some, it's in the air what they're coming home to.
