China's space agency is making final preparations to send the Shenzhou-18 crew into low-Earth orbit on Thursday as part of its ambitious space program that aims to put people on the moon by 2030. In a press conference on Wednesday, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) introduced the three astronauts; Commander Ye Guangfu, 43, a veteran astronaut who was part of the Shenzhou-13 mission in 2021; and astronauts Li Cong, 34, and Li Guangsu, 36, who will go to space for the first time. The three-member crew’s spacecraft is set for lift-off at 8:59 p.m. (1259 GMT) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on the edge of the Gobi Desert in the country’s northwest.

Kering shares slump after luxury company warns of H1 operating profit drop
Kering's shares slumped on Wednesday, after the French luxury goods company warned it expected a 40% to 45% plunge in first-half operating profit. Kering shares were down 8.5 percent in early session trading, dragging down slightly the shares of its French rivals LVMH and Hermes. Late on Tuesday, Kering warned of the likely drop in first-half operating profit as it also reported that first-quarter sales had declined as wealthy shoppers curbed spending on products from its star label Gucci.

Forint wobbles boost euro's appeal among German investors in Hungary
The volatility of the forint has boosted support for introducing the euro among German investors in Hungary to its highest level in 13 years, a survey by the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce showed on Wednesday. Prime Minister Viktor Orban's government has no target date to adopt the euro and his cabinet has ruled out joining the single currency before Hungarian living standards rise closer to average levels of the European Union it joined two decades ago.
