'Brooklyn' Exclusive Deleted Scene: See a Surprising Moment That Didn't Make the Theatrical Version

In Brooklyn, the heartrending immigrant love story that scored three Oscar nominations (including Best Picture and Best Actress), Saoirse Ronan’s Eilis Lacey is considered the responsible one among a houseful of young Irishwomen taking up residence in a New York brownstone. It’s why the boarding house’s landlady, Mrs. Keough, gives her dibs on the digs’ prime space: the basement.

Then Eilis meets the charming Italian-American plumber/baseball fanatic Tony (Emory Cohen), and all bets are off. She’s sneaking him into the basement soon enough.

Turns out at least one of her housemates was onto her, as revealed in an exclusive clip from the DVD/Blu-ray (watch above). It’s the fun-loving Diana (Eve Macklin), who tells Eilis after Mrs. Keough leaves the room, “As God as my witness, I heard nothing last night. Nothing at all. But it sounded lovely.”

Now that’s a good friend. Also kind of a voyeur, but mostly a good friend.

Brooklyn hits DVD/Blu-ray on March 15.
