In 2013, Miller was suspended for six games after violating the league's substance abuse policy, ESPN reported. That same year, an arrest warrant was issued when he failed to appear in court for traffic violations.

After his suspension that year, Miller said he was "working hard to gain trust back."

The athlete missed the 2020 season due to an ankle injury and is currently on the final year of his six-year contract with the Broncos.
