Bring It On is getting another sequel to add to its surprisingly long list, with a seventh title of the series now officially in the works for TV. Bring it on, we guess.
Following the original movie's 20th anniversary celebrations last year, an intriguing Halloween-themed sequel is on its way – but don't expect either Kirsten Dunst or Gabrielle Union to reprise their roles.
The latest spin-off of the '00s teen classic, Bring It On: Halloween, will air on the Syfy channel.
Bring It On: Halloween, a distinctly un-cheery follow-up, will tell the story of an embattled cheerleading squad who are "held down by restrictive rules".
When the team seek "the freedom of a creepy, closed school gym to practise for regionals", things soon take a turn, and members of the squad begin to disappear. In a Scooby-Doo-meets-Scream style twist, the cheerleaders are tasked with unmaking their assailant to save themselves.
News of a spooky Bring It On comes after Gabrielle Union recently suggested that the cast are "absolutely" on board for a sequel.
Speaking last year about the possibility of wielding those pom-poms again, Union said: "We actually did a public panel a couple of weeks ago and they asked about it, and we all were like, 'We're in. We're absolutely in.'"
"It's absolutely going to happen," she added. "We kind of want to see where these people would be 20 years later."
