Michael Goldberg had his eye on Danielle Nachmani for a while before they got together. He had asked a mutual friend to set him up with her, but as Danielle explains, “I politely declined, as he is a couple of years younger than me, but about six months later, we met at the same friend’s apartment and then kept running into each other. He was adamant that ‘this was a thing,’ so I agreed to go on a date with him.”
The two began seeing each other seriously after that, and Michael proposed four years into their relationship. “I honestly never thought about what a perfect proposal would be for me,” Danielle admits. “But waking up on a Sunday morning in September to him down on one knee was a dream. It was simple and intimate, and he had my favorite breakfast and flowers waiting in the living room.”
Once they started the wedding planning process, choosing the venue was by far the hardest decision for the couple. “We knew we wanted something modern,” Danielle remembers. “Michael would never admit it, but the Pérez Art Museum in Miami was the first place I showed him when we started looking, and then, about four months into our search, he showed it to me again, and we flew down a week later to go see it. The permanent collection is incredible, and the architecture is a piece of art in itself. We confirmed our booking in the middle of our initial walk-through that day.”
The two self-employed entrepreneurs—Michael is the founder of Something Special Studios, a creative agency that consults for brands like Nike and Rimowa, while Danielle is a stylist whose clients include actresses like Laura Harrier and brands like Theory—insisted on forgoing a planner, as they both had very specific ideas about what they wanted. A month before the big day, they enlisted Guerdy Abraira of Ocean Flowers & Events to manage everything in the final weeks and on-site. Danielle was also very clear-eyed about what she was looking for regarding her wardrobe. From the very beginning, she knew she wanted to wear Calvin Klein. “I planned on replicating a vintage sample I had fallen in love with years ago but was presented with the option of working with Calvin Klein on a By Appointment gown,” she says. “Raf Simons and Pieter Mulier are the ultimate design team in my mind, so to have the opportunity to work with them was beyond my wildest dreams. My mom and I went into the Calvin offices and a muslin dress was literally created out of thin air on my body. It was unreal, and the experience only got dreamier as each fitting passed. It was so strange to be in those fittings and be the focal point as I had been there many times with clients, but I trusted the team implicitly, and they created a walking piece of art.”
A less-is-more girl who typically doesn’t wear a lot of jewelry, Danielle borrowed earrings from her mother for both nights—a set of floral diamond earrings for the rehearsal dinner and her diamond solitaire earrings for the wedding as her something borrowed. For beauty, she kept things super simple. Teddi Cranford and Shayna Goldberg—aka the very best in Danielle’s eyes when it comes to effortless beauty—served as her glam team. “I sent Teddi two hair references for the weekend: a half-up, half-down for the rehearsal and a sleek bun for the wedding,” she explains. “For makeup, I just wanted it to be all skin. I wanted to glow and really feel like myself as I don’t wear makeup often. They both exceeded my expectations.”
Meanwhile, Michael is known for having a style that’s all his own. “He is pretty much always wearing a bucket hat—prior to it being the trend that it is now,” Danielle says. “I had been introduced to the brand Bode earlier that year and completely fell in love with Emily Bode’s aesthetic. I reached out in the hopes that she might agree to let us shop the collection, and she offered to make Michael a full custom look for our rehearsal dinner as well as ‘evening bucket hats’ for the weekend. Michael was thrilled. He even ended up buying eight of the Khadi shirts embroidered with his nickname ‘Goldie’ for all of his groomsmen to wear as well. For our wedding, Michael wore a beautiful black Prada tux and Ralph Lauren velvet slippers—although he changed into his Nike Air Tailwind 79s midway through the reception dinner.” And of course, he wore custom Bode hats both nights.
Family and friends also brought their Miami fashion A-game. “There was a great deal of white suiting, a standout hot pink Versace look, and a lot of floral and metallic dresses,” Danielle says. “We called the wedding formal, but people really made it their own, and I couldn’t have been prouder.”
The ceremony was no frills: “I loved the idea of getting married under a tallit and keeping it traditional,” Danielle explains. “I am Israeli, and my dad’s brother was able to get us one from the Old City that he had his rabbi bless.” One of the couple’s best friends made a mix of what he felt were the greatest love songs ever, which played as guests arrived. “I think it really set the tone,” Danielle says. On each seat, there was a bucket hat in lieu of a traditional kippa with the logo “The Goldies” on it.
Danielle carried a bouquet of kumquats as she walked down the aisle to a song by D. H. Lawrence that the couple had heard on their first date. “The ceremony was just as intimate as I had hoped,” Danielle remembers. “I had this overwhelming sense of calm once I got up there. Michael and I were both incredibly present, and I felt like everyone was right there with us.”
They exchanged rings that their friend, jewelry designer Alison Chemla of Alison Lou, custom made for them. After saying their vows and being pronounced husband and wife, Michael smashed the glass, and they walked out to “You and Me” by Penny and the Quarters. “Overall, it was just this really happy moment that you get to share with everyone you love, and as much as I wanted to celebrate, I also didn’t want the ceremony to end. It was perfect!”
Guests had cocktails while they took in the permanent collection at the museum as well as the Christo and Jeanne-Claude exhibit. Everyone then found their seats at tables decorated with colorful arrangements by BRRCH floral, and dinner was served. “In a surprise turn, Michael got up right after my dad’s toast and gave a speech that I thought would be a brief welcome, but turned into one of the most special speeches I could have ever imagined, thanking everyone in his life and sharing a beautiful sentiment about our relationship—and how he knew he was going to marry me from the day we met.”
As dinner came to a close, Danielle’s dad took the mic and asked everyone to look up. “Little did we know, he had secretly orchestrated the most incredible surprise fireworks show over the bay,” Danielle remembers. A couple of minutes into the show, clouds gathered and rain started to come down. “The band kept going and the fireworks kept going, and with the hurricane-style rain, it almost seemed like it was planned. Luckily, our dance floor was the only covered area so people grabbed their ‘The Goldies’ bucket hats to stay somewhat dry and kept dancing. Oddly enough, this was one of my favorite parts of the night. Everyone was dancing and getting soaked, holding onto their bucket hats for dear life. The love was really present, and it was the ultimate kickoff to the party. It was magical!”
At around midnight, Danielle changed into a Paco Rabanne chain-mail minidress but kept her something blue—The Row sandals—on for the entire night. “Right before we left for our wedding, I received a gift from The Row team,” she says. “It was the chicest satin white clutch from their recent collection, and it was my mainstay accessory for the entire weekend.”
Close friends and wedding guests Roofeeo and Pedro Cavaliere assumed deejaying responsibilities after the fireworks ended and the rain slowed, and the party didn’t stop from then on. At around 1:00 a.m., post–cake cutting, chicken and waffles and fries were passed out to much fanfare. “One of our best friends, Ariel, had surprised us with this amazing 1950s Rolls-Royce that we rode in separately to the wedding,” Danielle says. “And then at the end, we rode back to the hotel as our friends waved us off and cheered—it was all a very cinematic close.”
The Internal Revenue Service said on Thursday that it plans to sharply increase audit rates for big corporations, partnerships and multimillionaires over the next three years as it ramps up enforcement spending and hiring to boost collections. Releasing an update of its strategic operating plan for spending $60 billion in funding from the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, the IRS said it was targeting a near tripling of the audit rate on corporations with assets over $250 million to 22.6% in the 2026 tax year from 8.8% in 2019. For complex partnerships with assets over $10 million the IRS said it intends to increase audit rates by nearly 10-fold, to 1% in tax year 2026 from 0.1% in 2019.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Ryan Mountcastle and Jorge Mateo each homered and drove in two runs to lift the Baltimore Orioles to a series-deciding 7-2 victory over the New York Yankees on Thursday. Ryan McKenna also connected and Jordan Westburg’s two-run triple helped the Orioles complete a four-run fifth to chase Yankees starter Carlos Rodón (2-2) and secure a third win of the four-game set, the first this season between likely AL East contenders. The Orioles moved one game ahead of the Yankees in the di
It’s been 14 years since Canadian Métis artist Jaime Black hung red dresses in public spaces, raising awareness of the staggering number of Indigenous women missing and murdered across the country. The striking exhibition has since transformed into a full-fledged movement, with an annual event each year that provokes thought and honour from the public. Red Dress Day has ballooned in scale, but its message still remains as clear as it did that spring of 2010. “Red Dress Day is about raising aware
You’ve heard the one about the dog eating the homework, but what about the one where the woman is late to work because she’s spent the morning herding a family of ducks across West Vancouver? Like a scene from a modern day Snow White, Sydney Boothroyd managed to herd a mother Mallard duck and her flock of 10 hatchlings from her home in Sentinel Hill to Ambleside Park – more than an hour’s journey. “My mom and I had been having a cup of coffee in the morning and we looked at our lawn, and we saw
