‘Breaking’ news: TV stars will be in Boise for Treefort. Join them for a happy hour

Everyone’s favorite TV criminals will be in Boise this weekend for Treefort.

“Breaking Bad” duo Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are hosting a happy hour on Saturday afternoon, and you might spot them elsewhere downtown.

Paul, an Idaho native who portrayed Jesse Pinkman in the Golden Globe Award-winning and Emmy-winning drama “Breaking Bad” from 2008 to 2013, tweeted Thursday morning that he and co-star Cranston would be in the City of Trees for the music festival.

“Idaho! BC and I are coming into town and will be serving up some Dos Hombres cocktails this weekend all over downtown Boise,” Paul wrote in the tweet. “Saturday we will be hosting a happy hour ... . Can’t wait to raise a glass with all of you in my favorite state. #ItsMezcal.”

Paul and Cranston, who plays the crystal meth-cooking high school science teacher Walter White, are owners of Dos Hombres mezcal. Paul was born in Emmett and graduated from Centennial High School in Boise. He has a house in McCall and just last year put his house in Boise up for sale.

The pair will be stationed at the Bus Station music venue on Saturday and will begin serving cocktails at 4:30 p.m.

The station is a new venue for Treefort this year and is located at 339 N. 12th St. in downtown Boise. The site also will host Artfort. A festival pass wristband is required for entry, or it’s $20 at the door if capacity permits.
