Brave Grandma Laughs at Aggressive Bear Guarding Cubs in Pennsylvania Backyard

A Pennsylvania grandmother didn’t seem spooked after a black bear lurched toward her as she approached the bear and her cubs from her porch in Kunkletown on July 13, viral video shows.

Video taken by Valerie Laura Bruns shows the ‘momma’ bear cautiously look toward her grandmother trying to snap pictures of the cubs while standing on the porch. When the bear aggressively springs toward them, her grandmother laughs as Bruns fearfully screams and runs inside.

“Please get in the house!” Bruns loudly warns. “Grandma, the cubs are in the tree! The bear wants to get us,” she adds, as her grandma stayed outside to watch the animals.

Fatal black bear attacks on humans are rare, occurring on average of once per year across North America, according to reports. Credit: Valerie Laura Bruns via Storyful
