Generations of families and visitors have made Bradenton their home or vacation destination, enjoying restaurants on the water, downtown strolls and visits to a manatee almost as old as the city itself.
Though the city has drastically developed over the decades, many building and entertainment staples have held their ground or found ways to preserve their history.

The Biden administration is imposing new restrictions on firearms exports and increasing scrutiny on transactions to limit diversions of guns to drug cartels, criminal groups, gangs and others, the Commerce Department said on Friday. "The days of exporting military-style weapons to civilians in unstable countries are over," Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told Reuters. The department on Oct. 27 issued a pause on most firearm exports to assess the "risk of firearms being diverted to entities or activities that promote regional instability, violate human rights, or fuel criminal activities."
