Boygenius have won Best Rock Performance today at the 2024 Grammy Awards. “Not Strong Enough” helped the trio pick up the win over Arctic Monkeys (“Sculptures of Anything Goes”), Black Pumas (“More Than a Love Song”), Foo Fighters (“Rescued”), and Metallica (“Lux Æterna”).

The trio of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker got nominated for multiple awards tonight, and the band quickly picked up some hardware. “Not Strong Enough” won Best Rock Song, but it eventually lost for Record of the Year. In addition, The Record won Best Alternative Music Album, and Bridgers won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the SZA collaboration “Ghost in the Machine.”

While this is Boygenius’ first year receiving Grammy nominations, Bridgers’ song “Kyoto” was previously nominated for Best Rock Performance in 2021. Fiona Apple won for her Fetch the Bolt Cutters song “Shameika.” Bridgers had four nominations in total that year, including Best New Artist, but walked away without any wins. After the ceremony, she shared a series of Grammy-less portraits titled “me holding my grammys.”
