Blumarine's Pre-Fall 2022 Collection Is a Pink Dream

Blumarine, the iconic Y2K label helmed by Nicola Brognano, has unveiled a pink-themed collection for the Pre-Fall 2022 season. The lineup comes shortly after the brand teamed up with Hello Kitty on co-branded handbags and accessories.

"I hate when designers keep repeating themselves. It doesn’t excite me in the least," Brognano shared in conversation with Vogue. "So, I don’t even think about resting, even if I must say that at Blumarine we’ve been the first to fuel the craze for the 2000s and put them back on the map." He added that he has transformed the Blumarine girl from one who "sit[s] in her bedroom combing her hair in front of the mirror listening to Shakira or Beyoncé" into one who "wants to get out of the house."

The resulting collection boasts a vibrant color palette, opening with all-pink looks. Low-rise trousers are paired with a long knit cardigan, which is accessorized with a fuzzy "B"-branded handbag. A touch of contrast is added with bold red footwear styles including knee-high boots, as well as slingback pumps. More '00s-inspired items arrive in the form of miniskirts, accompanying lengthy coats and body-hugging dresses. The range is complete with denim sets, as well as cargo pants in brown and black.
