Toddler’s reaction to ‘Man of Steel’ is super adorable

Here’s a nice video that will brighten up your Monday and remind you about the true power of the movies.

Having seen the release of countless superhero movies over the past few decades, most movie audiences aren’t easily impressed by the sight of a flying man on film. But as the video above demonstrates, it’s a very different story for a child seeing something like that for the first time.

Pretty much everyone who saw Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” will agree that one of the best scenes in the film is when Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) takes flight in full Superman garb for the first time. It’s a thrilling moment (a moment that almost makes up for the many other problems with the superhero blockbuster), and one that really embodies the famous tagline for the original 1979 “Superman” film: “You'll believe a man can fly.”

YouTube user and self-professed Superman fan Iribbit recently posted a video of his 16-month-old son Simon watching the “first flight” scene from “Man of Steel” for the first time. The toddler’s reactions to the scene are absolutely adorable -- at one point young Simon even mimics the Man of Steel’s flying pose by raising his arms up high.

As experienced (and some might say jaded) moviegoers, most of us take a scene like this for granted. Simon, on the other hand, has never seen anything like this in his young life. Movies are magical when you’re a kid and this is proof. Love or hate “Man of Steel,” this baby’s reaction to the film is a sweet reminder of why we all love Superman.
