Watch the new 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Trailer

The first trailer for the live-action ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ movie has finally arrived.

The heroes in a half-shell have been updated for the 21st century by producer Michael Bay ("Transformers") and director Jason Liebesman.

This brand new version of the classic comic strip/cartoon series stars Megan Fox as yellow-suited reporter April O’Neill, and William Fichtner as masked baddie Shredder.

The official plot synopsis synopsis is below, though it’s not clear if walking brain Krang is involved.

“The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim, until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.”

As you can see from the plot synopsis and trailer, Megan Fox’s April seems integral to the story this time around.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is set for release on August 8, 2014.
