MTV Movie Awards GIF Guide: Pecs, Puppies, and Peeta

The 2014 MTV Movie Awards tend to deliver a good share of gaffes ("Catching Fires" — yeah, we heard that one, Cameron Diaz) and guffaws, like Mark Wahlberg's rambling acceptance speech for the show's Generation Award. Aside from a few brow-lifting moments, this year's fête was a bit of a snooze compared to past shows.

At least we got to see some skin.

It got a bit uncomfortable when Zac Efron won Best Shirtless Performance for his role as a book cover illustrator in "That Awkward Moment." You see, presenter and pop star Rita Ora, who took the stage with Jessica Alba, insisted that the winner take off their shirt.

Beating out nominees Jennifer Aniston, Sam Claflin, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Liam Hemsworth, Efron hit the stage. As he got the first words of his speech out of his mouth, Ora reached from behind and ripped open his denim shirt.  Smart of Efron to sport a shirt with snap buttons — easy removal.

Clearly tanned and totally ripped, Efron didn't even bother to finish his speech. He paraded his pecs for all to see during what was an inordinately akward amount of time. Brave are those who stared at his bare chest without blinking.

It's unclear whether Efron planned to finish his thoughts on the mic. But if he did, his moment got cutaway as the show moved on.

Here is a GIF guide to the evening:

There was a 'Puppy Cam,' featuring a pooch dressed as James Franco in "Spring Breakers."

And puppy Ron Burgundy!

Cameron Diaz pluralized "Catching Fire."

Lupita Nyong'o joked about becoming famous.
